Preview Night: Are your nerd senses tingling?

Everyone dresses up for Comic-Con!
Gaslamp trolley stop. Taken outside the San Diego Convention Center during SDCC 2011

Seems as though every geeky nerd and their dog knows about San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) now; there is coverage everywhere by everyone. However, as I heard someone once say at Comic-Con, “It isn't something popular you do.” Meaning that The Con is still for people that read, write, draw, are techies, nerds, geeks, social outcasts, comic book enthusiasts, movie go-ers, gamers, the socially awkward, TV show addicts, and the non-mainstream.

If this sounds like you, you'll be happy to know that, on behalf of One Voice Radio, I will be covering San Diego Comic-Con 2013 from the outside, with knowledge of the inside. You may not realize that, yes a LOT goes on inside the Convention Center, (loads of free stuff, celebrities, panels, sneak peaks, did I mention the free stuff?), however, the event has outgrown the venue to the point that the whole of downtown San Diego is now involved.

For the exception of this and last year, I have been going to SDCC since 2003.
So I like to think that I know what to do when it comes to The Con. Since I wasn't able to get in this year, I ended up getting myself a job at the San Diego Convention Center Corporation as a Convention Staffing Service Representative; from my understanding, I'm handing attendees the infamous Comic-Con bags. I'm not sure, though... Today is my first day and I wrote this yesterday. Any who, over the next few days (Thursday through Sunday), I'll be taking pictures and doing a quick recap of what happened that day OUTSIDE the Convention Center. At the end of this mini series, I'll go ahead and give y'all a list of tips and tricks of what you can do to better enjoy yourself during SDCC, regardless of whether or not you actually have a pass to get in.
